EDUCATION, TERRITORY AND TRANSFORMATION

Educational projects and practices by Ludom

Ludom’s trajectory moves through music as both an artistic language and a tool for social transformation. Beyond the stage, her work unfolds in educational, community, and institutional spaces, building bridges between culture, identity, and active listening.

As the founder of Favela Studio, an initiative focused on music education in underserved communities, Ludom works directly with young artists through processes of creation, autonomy, and professional development. The project emerges as a response to lack of access and has grown into a space for production, exchange, and belonging.

Her work includes workshops, residencies, and educational practices in public schools and socio-educational institutions in Brazil and the United States, such as Kenneth High School (Bronx, NYC), Kinder High School for the Performing Arts(Houston, TX), as well as juvenile detention centers like Crossroads Juvenile Center (Brooklyn, NYC). In Brazil, she has also led programs such as A Profissionalização do Artista and Creative Writing at the Conservatory of Sergipe, through an initiative supported by Sonora Brasil/SESC.

Within these contexts, she develops practices that use music as a tool for expression, narrative reconstruction, and emotional empowerment.

Ludom has also collaborated with leading institutions such as the Center for the Theatre of the Oppressed (CTO), deepening methodologies based on sound awareness and critical thinking, and participated in the AMP Residency (New Mexico), where she facilitated workshops with diverse communities.

Her work further expands into international initiatives through her role as a Latin Delegate at the African Music Academy, where she contributes to cross-territorial collaboration, network building, and the development of music and education initiatives across the African diaspora. This position reinforces her commitment to fostering dialogue between different Afro-diasporic cultural territories.

Ludom is a teaching artist and activist, creating spaces of listening, creation, and autonomy, where each participant is invited to recognize their own voice as a source of power.
